Relations
Jóhannes Dagsson in Norrænahúsið, 9. July to 14. August.
The title refers to the relations that hold between different kinds of phenomena. Relations between the experience of landscape and the history of art, between colour and form, knowledge and perception, the general and the instance, the mundane and the charged moment, between irony and intimacy. The relations themselves are of dispersed kinds, reflexive, irreflexive, symmetric, asymmetric, transitive and between man and world.
The works in the exhibition are mixed media on canvas.
Jóhannes studied visual art at Edinburgh College of Art, 2001-2002. He received a master's degree in Philosophy from the University of Iceland 2009, and is currently working towards a doctor's degree in Philosophy at the University of Calgary, Canada. Jóhannes has held numerous solo exhibitions and has taken part in group exhibitions.
