A unique concert with the Greenlandic band Nanook 31st of August
The Greenlandic band Nanook will be having their only concert in Iceland in the Nordic house the 31st of August.
The band was made in 2007 of the brothers Frederik K. Elsner (guitar and vocal) and Christian K. Elsner (guitar and vocal). They grew up in a little town in the south of Greenland but then moved to the capital, Nuuk. The band grew about a year later as new members were added to the team; Ib Uldum (bass and vocal), Martin Zinck (drums) and Mads Røn (synth and percussion).
The band has strong connections to Denmark where their first CD was recorded. Their music is described as experimental pop and rock with a feeling for details. The album was given the name “Sequinitta Qinngorpaatit” which means “Our sun shines on you”.
In February 2010 the album had reached 3000 sold examples and the expectations for new material are high. Nanook will play a bit in Denmark this summer and then in Greenland during fall.
This is however their only concert in Iceland this summer.
Information about time, date and tickets will be published later.
