Matti Kallio and Roope Aarnio, two Finnish top folk musicians, are publishing their first duo album here in Iceland. The album, called 'Kjós', was recorded in Iceland in the beautiful old Reynivellir Church, in August 2009. The album consists of new original compositions in folk music style, played by accordion, harmonium and guitar.

Matti Kallio, currently living in Reykjavik, has been engaged in numerous projects of different musical styles during his career. He is a multi-instrumentalist, playing the piano and keyboards, 2- and 5-row accordion, tin whistles, flute and vocals. Kallio is currently a member in Värttinä, the most succesful Finnish world music group ever. He has also arranged music for a cappella groups such as Rajaton and Club for Five, and composed music for the Reykjavik City Theatre.

Roope Aarnio is one of the most sought after folk music accompanists. He is a string instrument specialist, playing guitar, bouzouki, mandolin, but also concertina. Aarnio has toured the world with the Nordic folk music band Frigg and accordion virtuoso Johanna Juhola.
