Nordic Jazz in The Nordic House Saturday 13th of February 5PM
PELbO (NO) "PELbO makes the tuba look sexy and has brought jazz to the rockaudience;
they play with their soul and the potensial is great and growing."
Ine Kristine Hoem - vocal/elektronic, Kristoffer Lo - tuba, Trond Bersu - drums
A band with an instrumentation that is quite original: vocals, tuba and the drums.
Sounds special? It is. The band moves in between rock, pop, jazz and world music.
Using live electronics and always playing for real, the band is known for their
fantastic live-performances and straight up, in your face-attitude. PELbO is a
power-trio like you never heard it before. In 2009, PELbO made it to the finals in
the competition ZOOM Urørt, "the search of Norways best live-band". Their debut
album will be released in march.
PLOP (FIN)
They are striving for a warm, acoustic, natural, sometimes supernatural sound and for a deep and swinging yet adventurous rhythm.
PLOP is a co-operative trio of saxophonist Mikko Innanen, bassist Ville Herrala and drummer Joonas Riippa. The three Finns have a long history of playing together in various constellations, but as PLOP they have existed since 2007. The music of PLOP is a mixture of original compositions by the individual band members and collective
compositions created on the spot a.k.a. free improvisations. Fiasko Records released PLOP´s debut-CD "AN SICH" in October 2009
