Arctic Yggdrasil Jazz Concert

The legendary west-Nordic jazz-band, Arctic Yggdrasil, will give a concert in the Nordic House January 21st at 20.00. The band celebrates west-Nordic cooperation and will perform with Greenlandic drummer, Miké thomsen. Ticket price: 1000 ISK.

Concert with the Greenlandic percussion band Papii

The Greenlandic percussion band Papii will be holding a concert at the Nordic House on Saturday, 10^th of December. The band, using a variety of world instruments to mix traditional Greenlandic folk music with modern beats, is a side project of the popular Greenlandic rock band Liima Inui. The concert starts at 19:00 o'clock (7 pm), admission is free.

Múlinn Jazz Club

The Múlinn Jazzclub is announcing their autumn schedule with eight concerts, starting tonight at 9 pm with the jazz-rock band Eyland performing at the Nordic House. All concerts are held at the Nordic House, always at 9 pm, and have an entrance fee of 1.500 ISK. Tickets will be sold at the door.

The Chamber Club (Kammerklúbburinn) trains young musicians in the Reykjavik capital area in peforming a variety of chamber music in small orchestras. The Chamber Club was established in 2009 by teacher/musician Ewa Tosik with the support of a group of parents. The members of the club, a group of 20 young people, age 12 to 20, are advanced students from several Reykjavik area music schools.

Andrew N D'Angelo will adventure into the world of artistic expression via the debut of his Icelandic Trio EVE! This trio will feature compositions by D'Angelo from both the past and present. Powerful drummer Einar Scheving and the thoughtful Valdimar Kolbeinn Sigurjónsson on electric and acoustic bass will join Mr. D'Angelo for an evening of jazz music at the Nordic House. Marathon-Karaoke in the Nordic House and around the country 6th, 7th and 8th of january 2011.

The nation will sing the natural resources back on the last day of christmas: The ownership and the responsability of the natural resources should be public but not privatised as now is the case. In the Nordic house and around the country celebrities and amateurs will sing their favorite tunes in the biggest karaoke in Iceland so far; in an ode to our natural energy resources. Everyone is challenged to step on stage and sing! And let the nation's voice be heard!

Lunch-concert with band Silfurberg

Silfurberg consists of six members, a singer and five instrumentalists who have been playing together in various projects while studying at FÍH School of Music. This summer the band will play Nordic folk songs in their own arrangements all around Reykjavík. The arrangements will be in a nice, jazzy style so it should appeal to a broad audience. So be on the look-out and listen for Silfurberg this summer! They will play at the Nordic House th 30th of june at 12.00.
