Film screening: Skylappjenta by Iram Haq

The Norwegian writer, artist and director Iram Haq presents her short film „Skylappjenta“ (Little Miss Eyeflap) in the Nordic House on Wednesday, 24 April at 4 pm. The movie has English subtitles. After the film the director will be talking with the audience. No entrance fee, everybody welcome.

Vanishing Point

Nordic Film festival

Nordic Film Festival will take place at the Nordic House from the 11th of April until the 21st of April. We will be showing films from all the Nordic countries. All films will be shown with English subtitles. There is no entrance fee.

Mexican films at the Nordic House

GIERDU Trends in Sami modern art

Voices Unlimited: a cappella in performance

Pikknikk concert series #2: Mikael Lind

Mikael Lind is a Swedish musician that has been living in Iceland since 2006. He has written electronic music since he was a teenager, but lately his interest for classical music has grown stronger and stronger. He has released two records in Iceland, Alltihop from 2009 and Felines Everywhere, that was released a month ago.

The art works from the exhibition WALLS will be put up for auction in the Nordic House on February 25^th at 4pm. Andri Freyr Viðarsson, radio host, presents and manages the auction and will also entertain guests. This is a special opportunity to get a contemporary art work from some of the best street artists in Iceland. The price range of the pieces is 20.000 – 160.000 ISK. Icelanders will soon have an excellent opportunity to get a better understanding of Grindadráp, or Pilot Whale Killing, the ancient tradition still very much alive in the Faroes.

From January 14th to February 12th , the Nordic House in Reykjavík is hosting an exhibition with photographs taken during a pilot whale killing which took place on the beach of Tórshavn 23 July 2010.

A Nobel Prize Celebration in the Nordic House
