The Finnish legend Jimi Tenor is coming to Reykjavík and will be at the
Nordic house on Culture Night.
The Nordic house is hosting two separate events with Jimi Tenor, a concert
and a less known side of the artist, a photography exhibition.
Jimi Tenor, who is known for being a colorful performer and an
unconventional musician will have a warm up concert for Culture Night on Friday August 17th at the
Nordic house at 21.00.
On Culture Night, August 18th, the photography exhibition, Autobahn, will be
opened at 14.00.
Guided tours around the exhibition with Jimi Tenor will take
place at 15.00 and 16.00.
The exhibition will be up until the 27th of August.
Jimi Tenor has been taking photographs for decades and in the series
exhibited in the Nordic House he is contemplating roadkills, a subject
rarely touched upon as it is considered such non-events in our societies.
He is looking at how cars and traffic are destroying our planet. The side
effect of that are the roadkills that in the photographs look often like
abstract paintings.
The events are free of charge and are a part of Menningarnótt 2012.
