Midsummerdance – drawings on plywood

The drawings surround the season of midsummer, the midsummer bonfire and the people during the summer night. Some of the motifs refer to the Norwegian painter Nikolai Astrup. Each motif is repeated, thereby creating variation around the theme; the bonfire and the people, the dance of life and dreams.

The series „Seven types“ refers to the superstition that he who collects 7 different types of flowers on midsummer night and puts it under his pillow will see his bride (or groom) in his dream.
