Andri Freyr Viðarsson, radio host, presents and manages the auction and will also entertain guests. The Chamber Club (Kammerklúbburinn) trains young musicians in the Reykjavik capital area in peforming a variety of chamber music in small orchestras. The Chamber Club was established in 2009 by teacher/musician Ewa Tosik with the support of a group of parents. The members of the club, a group of 20 young people, age 12 to 20, are advanced students from several Reykjavik area music schools.
The young and upcoming band, Pascal Pinon, is publishing theire first album on the 22. november and to celebrate the release they will give a concert at the Nordic House.
This year it is Acoustic Airwaves at the Nordic House with all bands playing a special acoustic versions of their music. This is a super-intimate program and it is free! Special Screening of Sigur Ros's Documenteary Heima on SUnday the 18th.
Concerts with the acclaimed musician, Michala Petri. With her husband Lars Hannibal, Guitarist, she will play works by Bach and more.
This year The Nordic House pays extra attention to the younger
generation. Throughout the year there will be lots of varied programs and activities, directed especially towards children.
RIFF unites it all: Screenings at downtown venues of a wide range of fresh films from the international film scene, midnight movies, concerts and hip bars.
The Nordic House has been a part of riff.is from the beginning and this year we have put up a Cinema Bar in our exhibition hall downstairs. There you can listen to records, buy popcorn and red vine as well as hang out in our sofas before the movie starts.
