The aim of SEQUENCES is to celebrate and exhibit contemporary visual art with a special emphasis on time-based art, such as performances, sonic works, video art, art in public/urban spaces, and to create a cross-platform for these art forms.

SEQUENCES 2009 hosts a number of events in collaboration with art spaces, galleries and institutions in Reykjavik, exhibiting the latest developments in the field, involving a large number of Icelandic and international artists. A special emphasis is put on live events for this year's festival which will take place at various venues around the city centre.

 

SEQUENCES Real-time Art Festival celebrates contemporary visual art with a special emphasis on time-based art, such as performances, sonic works, video art and art in public spaces.

 

SEQUENCES 2009 emphasizes live events that takes place around the city centre.

 

SEQUENCES 2009 exhibits both local and international artists. This years Honorary Artist is Icelandic concept artist Magnús Pálsson.

LECTURE SERIES

The Nordic House is a partner to the SEQUENCES 2009 lecture series.


LECTURE SERIES have recently been added to the festival lineup. Speakers include many of the participating artists this years as well as other speakers who have been invited in the fields of visual arts, stage arts and theory.

Sequences 2009 - Lecture series:

For the first time, artist talks and lecture series will run alongside the Sequences festival. Speakers include participating artists and other guest lecturers in the fields of visual arts, stage art and theory.

Tuesday November 3rd

15.00- 19.00: (Made up and let down), seminar with artists Anita Wernstrom (SE), Line Ellegaard (DK), Malin Stahl (SE), Pernille Leggat Ramfelt (NO) & Sofia Dahlgren (SE) and lecture by Dr. Halldór Björn Runófsson

Wednesday November 4th
