Volcano Circus Festival 4.-14 July

Volcano Circus Festival and Circus Village will take place in the heart of Reykjavík city July 4th – 14th 2013. Wide range of circus performances from Europe and beyond will be on the program as well as workshops, seminars, surprise happenings, concerts and more. The Circus Village consists of six traditional circus tents that all have been named after famous Icelandic Volcanos. The biggest tent is of course called Eyjafjallajökull. Other tents are Askja, Hekla, Katla and Grímsvötn. 

Joyful Czech melodies, impressionism and Hungarian dances

The last concert in the 15.15 concert series at the Nordic house in Reykjavik will take place on Sunday 21st April at 15.15 pm. The chamber group Camerarctica will be performing three very colorful works. Tickets are sold by the door. Ticket price is 2000, but 1000 for elderly, disable and students.

Drawn

A group of twelve Swedish artists will show drawings at Nordens Hus in Reykjavik from 2 May to 26 May 2013. In connection with the exhibition Tecknat they will arrange a workshop which will involve a creative dialogue about drawing with local art students.

Nordic Film festival

Nordic Film Festival will take place at the Nordic House from the 11th of April until the 21st of April. We will be showing films from all the Nordic countries. All films will be shown with English subtitles. There is no entrance fee.

Concert with Harald Bjørkøy & Selma Guðmundsdóttir

On Thursday April 25th , the first day of summer according to Icelandic tradition, Norwegian tenor Harald Bjørkøy and Icelandic pianist Selma Guðmundsdóttir will give a Song recital at the Nordic House in Reykjavik, starting at 16 o'clock. Entrance is free, everybody welcome!

The Long Moment by Cooper & Gorfer

Sarah Cooper and Nina Gorfer work in the borderland between photography and classical painting.  Their narratives are never linear; rather, they intimate multifaceted, dreamlike realities. The exhibition is from March 9th - June 17th and is a part of DesignMarch 2013.

Domowe Melodie and Myrra Rós will perform at the Nordic House on July 18th at 8 pm. Aðgangseyrir 1000 ISK.

Film screening: Skylappjenta by Iram Haq

The Norwegian writer, artist and director Iram Haq presents her short film „Skylappjenta“ (Little Miss Eyeflap) in the Nordic House on Wednesday, 24 April at 4 pm. The movie has English subtitles. After the film the director will be talking with the audience. No entrance fee, everybody welcome.
